Welcome to the Alliance for Quantum Optics and Condensed Matter (AQCOM)
The Research Alliance is a joint activity of the groups working on the fields of quantum optics and condensed matter physics at the University of Bonn.
The participating groups have a strong collaboration, and are supported by members of the Department of Chemistry and groups located at the University of Cologne.
Research
The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Bonn offers a focused education in the experimental research focus "Photonics and Condensed Matter Physics". This field of research is represented by experimental and theoretical research groups, some of which are already members of the DFG research unit 557: "Light Confinement and Control with Structured Dielectrics and Metals".
The groups are embedded in a >>network of researchers working on related fields, coming from the Department of Chemistry in Bonn, and from the Physics and Chemistry Departments at the University of Cologne.
Teaching
The AQCOM offers a curriculum suited optimally to prepare the students for a degree (Bachelor/Master/PhD) in the field of Quantum Optics, Photonics and Condensed Matter Physics .
